On Aug. 29, Langford Auditorium was host to the second annual Good Catch and Safety Superhero Celebration, sponsored by the Office of Quality, Safety and Risk Prevention (QSRP).

The Good Catch program encourages staff and faculty to nominate their front-line peers for seizing opportunities related to quality or safety and intervening appropriately to prevent harm to patients and staff. Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt provides similar awards under its Safety Superhero Program.

Led by Jenny Slayton, DNP, RN, Senior Vice President for Quality, Safety and Risk Prevention, QSRP hosts the event to recognize and celebrate all the staff and faculty members that have received Good Catch and Safety Superhero awards during the recently ended fiscal year. The event also features door prizes and a photo booth.

Facilities participating in the Good Catch program include Vanderbilt University Hospital, Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, Vanderbilt Ambulatory Clinics and Facilities, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital and Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.
