
Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy has appointed Ryan Nix, PharmD, MMHC, as executive director.
Nix is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and earned his Master of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
In his new role, Nix leads a team supporting more than 130,000 prescriptions annually for patients receiving complex specialty therapies. His responsibilities include navigating limited-distribution medication access and developing data-driven solutions to ensure patient access to treatments.
“Every patient faces different barriers, whether financial, clinical or logistical,” Nix said. “The key is meeting each patient where they are, understanding their unique circumstances, and tailoring our services to support their needs.”
Nix brings 17 years of pharmacy leadership experience across retail, long-term care and specialty pharmacy settings. He joined Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy in 2017 and has held various leadership roles focused on operations, technology and clinical integration. Nix was most recently the senior director for Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy.
