Department of Pharmaceutical Services observes National Pharmacy Week, Oct. 19-25

The Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital Pharmacy team, one of the many work groups observing National Pharmacy Week.

National Pharmacy Week, Oct. 19-25, is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. These professionals play a critical role in ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for VUMC’s patients.

Pharmacy team members’ expertise in medication management, patient education, and clinical collaboration helps ensure that every treatment plan is executed with precision and care. Whether working directly with patients or supporting providers behind the scenes, their impact is felt across every aspect of our organization.

To recognize their dedication, the Department of Pharmaceutical Services will host a Pharmacy Week Luncheon on Oct. 22, where the Pharmacy Credo Awards will be presented to individuals who exemplify our core values. Throughout the week, the department will celebrate with daily themed events, including:

  • Wear Pink Day – Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness
  • Twin Day – Celebrating teamwork and camaraderie
  • 100 Years of Pharmacy Excellence: Wear Black and Gold Day – Honoring a century of pharmacy legacy here at Vanderbilt
  • Plus, additional spirited activities to foster unity and appreciation

In the spirit of community service, the VUH Inpatient Pharmacy will host a clothing drive to support the VUMC Clothes Closet, helping those in need across our community.

Pharmacy leadership encourages everyone to take a moment to thank a pharmacy colleague and learn more about the vital role they play in our health care system.
