The Association of Surgical Technologists Educators Conference will be held in Nashville on Feb. 6-7, and a pre-conference workshop, titled “The Vanderbilt Experience,” will be held Feb. 5.
Pre-conference events include: “Advanced Trauma Operative Management and Preparedness: Enhancing Surgical Technologist Readiness,” presented by Cheryl Cotton; “Enhancing Surgical Tech Student Success through Perioperative Education: Onboarding Processes and Specialized Clinician Rotations at VUMC,” presented by Peggy Hughes, CST; “Leadership and Learning in the Operating Room: The Multifaceted Role of Lead Surgical Technologists,” presented by Alex Craft, CST, and Jenn Maloney, CST; “Community Involvement and the Future of Health Care” panel discussion; “Enhancing Specialized Education for Surgical Technologists: The Role of Preceptors in Pediatric Operating Rooms,” presented by Yasmine Sanchez; and a tour of Vanderbilt OR and Pediatric Enterprise.
