On Feb. 9, the Vanderbilt Health Workforce Strategy office hosted the Tennessee Department of Education Student Leadership team and 40 high school student leaders in state-sponsored career and technical student organizations, including HOSA-Future Health Professionals, for an afternoon of experiential learning on the Vanderbilt Health Main Campus.
Leaders from across Vanderbilt Health operations and clinical departments participated as panelists and tour stops for this group. The students, who came from various backgrounds and career interests, had the opportunity to learn the complexities of a hospital setting and the many careers and professionals needed to operate and serve patients. Participating departments included: Sterile Processing, Perioperative Services, Radiology, Laboratory, Diet and Nutrition, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Supply Chain, IT, Human Resources, and Patient Services.
