NHLBI director Gibbons set to deliver Oct. 9 Watkins Lecture

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine will present its 17th annual Levi Watkins Jr., MD, Lecture at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 9, in 208 Light Hall. The lecture is sponsored by the school’s Office for Diversity Affairs.

Nashville Christmas Parade scheduled to roll Saturday, Dec. 1

University Health Network and Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network join forces to create statewide value-based health care alliance

The University Health Network (UHN), a clinically integrated network and accountable care organization (ACO) based in Knoxville that includes The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) and University Physicians’ Association (UPA), as well as various partnerships and joint ventures with physicians and health care companies across East Tennessee, has announced an affiliation with the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN), a network of providers working together to transform health care to be more proactive, accessible and affordable for all.

Dill’s role expanded to Sr. VP of Medical Center Engagement

Stuart Dill, Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Director of The Office of Engagement, has been named Sr. VP, Medical Center Engagement with an expanded leadership role, including oversight of VUMC’s Strategic Marketing Department.

Flulapalooza set for Sept. 26

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is ready for its eighth annual mass influenza vaccination event, set for Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the area between Light Hall and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

Heart Walk 2018

The money is still rolling in, but it appears that the Greater Nashville Heart Walk will raise close to $2 million in its fight against heart disease and stroke as well as provide funding for public and professional education and community service programs.
