School of Nursing parking lot closing May 15

A parking lot on 21st Avenue South, Lot 7, will close permanently Monday, May 15, as the university begins work on the new 29,947-square-foot addition to the School of Nursing. Lot 7 will be converted to a green space, with a drive that will allow for drop off at the entry of the renovated facility.

Class of 2017: Jacob Schultz, former walk-on snapper, heads to medical school on Navy scholarship

When Jacob Schultz learned the U.S. Navy had awarded him a prestigious Health Professions Scholarship to medical school, he didn’t tell his family—at least not immediately. Four days later, Schultz, a senior snapper on Vanderbilt’s football team, also learned he’d been accepted into Vanderbilt’s School of Medicine.

Lovly elected to American Society for Clinical Investigation

Christine Lovly, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of Medicine and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt, has been elected to The American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI).

Reba pays a visit

Recording artist Reba McEntire made a special appearance at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt on April 27 to visit with patients and families.
