James Netterville, M.D., professor of Otolaryngology and director of the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Service, has been elected president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and its foundation for the 2012-13 term. Vanderbilt is taking part in a national study to test in older adults the use of a vaccine designed to protect children against a common cause of pneumonia.

Vanderbilt University and Medical Center faculty, staff, students and volunteers will once again have the opportunity to be part of a mass flu vaccination plan that last year more than doubled the current world record for the total number of vaccinations given in an eight-hour period.
