Dear Vanderbilt University Medical Alumni,
Congratulations VUSM Class of 2017
The Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association (VMAA) proudly welcomed the newest members of our medical alumni family, the VUSM Class of 2017, at a faculty appreciation/”almost alumni” luncheon on May 10. I know each of you join me in celebrating their present achievements as we eagerly anticipate learning of their successes in future Alumni News/”Worthy of Note” editions of Vanderbilt Medicine magazine.
VMAA Host Program
More than 395 alumni now participate in our VMAA host program. The VUSM Class of 2018’s interview cycle will begin soon. Please see medschool.vanderbilt.edu/alumni/host-program to learn more about this program and to sign up to participate. Doing so decreases travel costs for our fourth-year students as they travel for residency interviews. Your participation as a host program participant is greatly appreciated.
VUSM Medical Education Opportunities for VU Homecoming/Reunion 2017 Participants
Are you a “dual” Vanderbilt alum celebrating a VU undergraduate reunion in 2017 (October 5-7)? While VUSM will not hold a reunion in 2017, the medical school will offer a strong slate of educational opportunities on Friday, Oct. 6, (many with CME) for alumni returning to campus for Homecoming and the undergraduate Reunion. Multiple medical specialty-specific grand rounds and conferences are available for returning alumni. Visit our Reunion website for a complete list.
VUSM Reunion 2018/over a year away; date TBD
Our next biennial VUSM reunion is scheduled for Fall 2018 in conjunction with VU’s 2018 Homecoming festivities. All Vanderbilt University School of Medicine classes ending in 2, 3, 7, 8, the Quinq Classes ‘68 and ‘69, and the Quinq Plus classes (1967 and earlier) will gather for special anniversary class parties held during the weekend. Visit our reunion website for further details and check back frequently for Reunion 2018 updates.
VMAA 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award
We are currently accepting nominations for the VMAA 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award which will be bestowed during the VUSM Reunion 2018 festivities. The nomination form, as well as criteria and a list of past winners can be found via the VMAA website: reunion.vanderbilt.edu/medicine/distinguishedalumniaward.php.
VMAA Board Welcomes New Members
