Biostatistics expert Zeger set for next Discovery Lecture

Scott Zeger, PhD, professor of Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore and a leading expert on the application of biostatistics to improve health around the world, will deliver the next Flexner Discovery Lecture on Thursday, April 18.

Rodriguez-Muñoz works at Vanderbilt Women’s Health One Hundred Oaks and is project coordinator for the Obstetrics Opioid Use Disorder Quality Improvement project and a leader for Team HOPE, a multidisciplinary team that focuses on the optimization of opioid exposed newborns. She was one of 20 nominees for the honor, which is named for longtime VUMC social worker Carolyn Edwards. The luncheon and award presentation were part of the Transition Management Office’s observance of March as Social Work Month.

Friends & Fashion raises funds for Children’s Hospital in style

Friends of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt held its annual fundraising event, Friends & Fashion, on Monday, April 1, at Music City Center. The fashion show and luncheon, now in its 29th year, was themed ‘Superheroes’ and included current and former Children’s Hospital patients walking the runway alongside professional models.
