Annual telethon brings in $1.8 million for Children’s Hospital

The annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Telethon celebrated its 30th year on June 2, raising more than $1.8 million. All proceeds benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

Research effort seeks to improve home care for kidney failure patients

Vanderbilt nephrologist, Thomas Golper, M.D., professor of Medicine in Nephrology and Hypertension, is leading an effort to form a research consortium with a goal of improving care for kidney failure patients who receive a form of home dialysis.

Jesse Ehrenfeld, M.D., MPH, associate professor of Anesthesiology, Surgery and Biomedical Informatics, has been named editor-in-chief of the Journal of Medical Systems, succeeding Ralph Grams, M.D., professor of Pathology and Medical Informatics at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
