Music artist Riley Clemmons, right, visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt Aug. 3 — which was also the day her self-titled debut album was released. She performed and visited with patients and families in Seacrest Studios.

The Junior League of Nashville recently presented a gift of $200,000 to support the Child Life Program at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

U.S. Navy two-star Rear Adm. Christina Alvarado visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt recently to interact with patients and teach them about the duties of the Navy as well as tour Children’s Hospital with leadership and staff. Alvarado is deputy chief of the Bureau of Medicine & Surgery, Reserve Policy and Integration. She is also a registered nurse.

The Nashville Collaborative, a unique academic-community partnership between Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Nashville Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, recently celebrated 10 years of work aimed at improving children’s health through family-based, community-centered programs.

The newest Nashville Predators — members of this year’s rookie draft class — recently spent a day at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt doing interviews in Seacrest Studios and visiting with patients and families.
