The number of school-age children and adolescents hospitalized for suicidal thoughts or attempts has more than doubled since 2008, according to a new Vanderbilt-led study published in Pediatrics.

Thousands of spectators gathered for the 77th running of the Iroquois Steeplechase May 12 at Percy Warner Park. Since designating Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt as its official charity in 1981, the Steeplechase has contributed more than $10 million to the hospital.
