Kate Payne, Vanderbilt bioethicist and nurse, has died

Associate Professor of Nursing Kate Payne, JD, RN, NC-BC, a bioethicist, attorney and beloved nurse leader at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, died at the Alive Hospice Residence on Jan. 6 after a very brief and unexpected illness.

School of Nursing names Steaban Honorary Alumna

Robin Steaban, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital (VUAH), has been honored by Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) with the school’s Honorary Alumna distinction. The award was presented during a virtual celebration on Oct. 20.

VUSN was recently honored for its outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Norman to step down as dean of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing

Linda Norman, DSN, RN, dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and the Valere Potter Menefee Professor of Nursing, announced she will step down from the position June 30, 2021.
