Fifteen faculty members hailing from a diverse cross section of disciplines have been selected as the first cohort of the Chancellor's Faculty Fellows program.

Twelve members of Vanderbilt's faculty have been elected fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science for their “scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications.”

Vanderbilt University Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos today announced the institution is embarking on a process to reconfigure Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a not-for-profit academic medical center that is financially distinct from the university. The move will give the medical center increased financial independence while preserving and growing the collaboration that has resulted in Vanderbilt's research, education and medical excellence.

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos, Provost Susan Wente and several Vanderbilt experts joined colleagues from across the Southeast to discuss obesity at the second annual Southeastern Conference Symposium Sept. 21-23.

The provost's office has launched the Chancellor Faculty Fellows program to support and invest in outstanding junior faculty.

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos told the opening Faculty Assembly on Aug. 21 that Vanderbilt begins the academic year in an exceptionally strong position—academically, financially and culturally.

Vanderbilt’s Academic Strategic Plan, which will guide university investments in faculty recruitment, capital planning, academic programs and philanthropic priorities over the next 10 years, was officially unveiled by Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos Aug. 21.
