On Monday, staff and faculty get the chance to find out more about what is going on at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

At 4:30 p.m. in Langford Auditorium that day, Dr. Harry R. Jacobson, vice chancellor for Health Affairs, will present the State of the Medical Center Address.

Among the topics he will report on are the institution's expense reduction plans and the factors used to determine staffing levels; the measures being taken to improve the state's TennCare program as well as the national Medicare program; and the efforts to strengthen and improve VUMC's contracting, billing and collections programs.

Also to be updated is the search for a new Dean of the School of Medicine as well as the searches under way for chairs in Cell Biology, Neurology, Pediatrics and Pharmacology.
