Becker’s ranks VUMC among best

Recently, Vanderbilt University Medical Center was named one of the 30 Best Hospitals in America by Becker's Hospital Review.

The review cited multiple factors, including:
• VUMC having one of the nation's most sophisticated electronic medical record systems for more than a decade, which allows faculty to improve medical outcomes;
• A Top 10 ranking in total NIH research funding among U.S. medical schools;
• Being highly regarded by multiple other ranking agencies such as U.S. News & World Report, Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence, Consumer's Choice and Fortune magazine helped result in VUMC's inclusion among the group.

Becker's also took into account VUMC's sophistication for such achievements as, “possessing one of the world's largest DNA databases (BioVU), but it can also deliver basic primary care, operating more than 50 satellite clinics in Tennessee and Kentucky.”

Becker's Hospital Review, owned by ASC Communications, is a leading source of business and legal information for hospital and health system leaders, owners and operators of ambulatory surgery centers and leaders of orthopaedic and spine practices.
