Books From Birth of Middle Tennessee will be available for residents of Sumner County beginning June 1. Children from birth to age 5 who are residents of the county will be eligible to receive a free new hardbound book each month in the mail.

The program, administered by the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, is already serving families in Davidson and Williamson counties. With the launch of Sumner County, approximately 60,000 children will now be eligible.

Books From Birth of Middle Tennessee was inspired by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, and was founded by Children's Hospital, the Nashville Public Library, Jo's Reach Out and Read, NashvilleRead, Ingram Industries, WTVF-NewsChannel 5, the Dollywood Foundation and the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation.
