Junior faculty members throughout Vanderbilt University with an interest in cancer research are encouraged to apply for support by Vanderbilt’s Institutional Research Grant (IRG) from the American Cancer Society.

These funds are intended to provide seed money to researchers with an interest in cancer who do not have national grant support of their own and who have not received prior support form the IRG.

The ACS defines junior faculty as investigators at the rank of assistant professor or equivalent who are eligible to apply as a principal investigator for grant support from national agencies.

Faculty members with an interest in the psychosocial and behavioral aspects of cancer, as well as basic and clinical research, are encouraged to apply. Funding will be allocated in one-year awards of up to $20,000. Deadline for applications is Monday, Oct. 15.
