Dr. Eugene Fowinkle (right), associate vice chancellor for Health Affairs and a fixture at VUMC for nearly three decades, was all smiles at a recent celebration honoring his retirement. Among those on hand included (from left) Dr. Roscoe "Ike" Robinson, vice chancellor for Health Affairs, Emeritus; Dr. Harry Jacobson, vice chancellor for Health Affairs; and Ann Robinson. Fowinkle was a former state commissioner of Public Health, and brought his legislative knowledge with him to Vanderbilt, where he served as a liaison with the State Legislature as well as with physicians and hospitals throughout Tennessee.
