University School of Nashville students Chris Lentz and Amy allen were at VUMC recently to get a close-up look at that three-pound lump of spongy tissue that, presumably, is inside of everyone's head. They were here as part of Brain Awareness, a month-long series of events highlighting the wonders of the human brain. There's still time to catch the remaining events, which include:

March 23 – "An Introduction to Epilepsy," and "Genetic Susceptibility to Epilepsy." 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with refreshments following, Cumberland Science Museum.

March 25 – "What is Multiple Sclerosis and Why Isn't There a Cure Yet?" and "Is it Possible to Promote New Myelin Repair in Multiple Sclerosis?" 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with refreshments following, Cumberland Science Museum.

March 31 – "Caring for People with Dementia." 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with refreshments following, Cumberland Science Museum.
