Holiday pay differential increased

The holiday differential pay rate at Vanderbilt Medical Center is being increased by $3 per hour.

Effective Sept. 1, the new rate will be $5 per hour.

The change will take place automatically and will apply to the upcoming Labor Day holiday.

The increase comes after a review of current market data and a recommendation from Human Resources.

“I appreciate the continued dedication of our staff who sacrifice time with their family and friends to work on major holidays and this adjustment is in recognition of their commitment to the success of our organization,” said Harry Jacobson, M.D., vice chancellor for Health Affairs.

For more specific information on which holidays the differential applies, refer to HR Policy #006, Holiday and Personal Days, at http://hr.vanderbilt.edu/-policies/index.htm.
