Innovation expert set for Centennial Lecture

Author Clayton Christensen will present “The Innovator's Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Health Care” at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing at 4:15 p.m., Thursday, March 12, in 155 Godchaux Hall Annex.

Christensen, known for his bestselling business books, will speak about his latest work, “The Innovator's Prescription,” and refer to the theory of disruptive innovation to suggest how problems in the health care industry can be resolved.

Christensen coined the phrase “disruptive innovation” to describe an item or system that overturns an existing item or system that is more complicated and expensive.

Christensen is a professor of Business Administration at Harvard.

A reception will follow the lecture, which is part of VUSN's Centennial Lecture series. Special parking in Wesley Place garage is available.
