News Briefs

Keeping curriculum vitaes current has just gotten a little easier thanks to Community of Sciences Inc. (COS), a bibliographic web-based database that enables information about Vanderbilt's investigators to be accessed by the scientific community.

The COS database will also allow users to set up alerts that will be sent via e-mail whenever new funding opportunities arise that match the researcher's interests.

For further information, contact Janie Falkenberg at 322-2281 or janie.falkenberg@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu.

Nursing in the next century will be the focus of an address sponsored by the Joint Center for Nursing Research on Friday, Feb. 26 from noon to 2 p.m. in Room 140 of Frist Hall at the School of Nursing.

"Where Should We Be as Graduate Students, Faculty Scholars, Educators and Practitioners as We Move Into the 21st Century," will feature speakers May L. Wykle, Ph.D., and Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The research colloquium will offer nurse educators and practitioners insight into the importance of the future of nursing in health care.

The Vanderbilt Children's Hospital night lights are here.

Staff and faculty who picked up night light coupons at the preview of the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital advertising campaign in late October can redeem the coupons in the VUMC Marketing Communications office, 405 Oxford House.

The night lights, in the shape of the red paper doll logo of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, are featured in the ad campaign.
