Library award
T. Mark Hodges, professor of Medical Administration, Emeritus, was recently presented the Marcia C. Noyes Award by the Medical Library Association.
The award is presented annually to "an individual who has made a lasting and significant contribution to the profession of health science librarianship," according to the MLA.
Hodges was director of Vanderbilt's Medical Library from 1962 until his retirement in 1995.
This is the second time a VUMC person has received the Noyes Award, the first being Eileen Cunningham, who won the first such award in 1949.
Pilot funds available
The Clinical Nutrition Research Unit is seeking applications to fund pilot projects.
The purpose of the pilots is to allow investigators to explore the feasibility of their research ideas and collect sufficient data to apply to other funding sources.
Application letters are due by Nov. 15 and should state the nature of the project.
