“Novel Approaches to Drug Delivery” is the topic of this year’s Joel G. Hardman Student-Invited Pharmacology Forum on Thursday, April 26. The annual symposium lets graduate students in the Pharmacological Sciences Training Program identify a focused research area and invite internationally recognized scientists to participate.

Speakers in this year’s symposium include:

• Dr. Evan C. Unger, president and CEO of ImaRx Therapeutics, Inc., “Drug and Gene Delivery Using Ultrasound and Acoustically Active Carriers.”

• Joseph Kost, D.Sc., professor of Chemical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University in Israel, “Intelligent Drug Delivery Systems.”

• Dr. Clifford J. Steer, professor of Medicine, Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota, “Nonviral Approaches to Gene Therapy.”

The symposium is April 26 from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in 208 Light Hall. Following the seminars, graduate students in the Pharmacological Sciences Training Program will present their research in a poster session from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Third Floor Atrium of the Robinson Research Building.
