The Shade Tree Trot 5K family fun run/walk took place Saturday, April 21, despite drizzly rain and cool temperatures. Race coordinators say a record 600 people registered for the event and 400 completed the course, which winds through the Vanderbilt campus. The Trot is the single largest annual fundraiser for the Shade Tree Clinic student-run free medical clinic in East Nashville. This year the race raised $21,000 to support various programs and the purchase of medicine, vaccines and medical equipment.
