The Nashville premiere of the movie “Letters to God” was held on Tuesday, April 6, at the Regal Green Hills Theater.

The pre-screening and after-party benefited the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Written and co-directed by Patrick Doughtie, the movie was inspired by his son Tyler's battle with brain cancer. Tyler was a patient at the Children's Hospital during part of his illness.

At the after-party, The Warren Brothers performed their song from the movie, “Dear Mr. God,” and Ann Marie Boskovich, an “American Idol” contestant from the show's eighth season, performed “Everything is Beautiful,” also from the film.

The movie was released nationwide today.
