Relay for Life on tap

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center at Franklin is a presenting sponsor of the Williamson County Relay for Life, which begins at noon on Saturday, June 5, at the Franklin Recreation Complex.

The actual relay is scheduled from 6 p.m., June 5, through 6 a.m. June 6.
Vanderbilt also is fielding teams for the Davidson County Relay for Life at LP Field in Nashville at 6 p.m., June 18, through 6 a.m., June 19.

During the 12-hour event, each team member takes turns walking or running around a track. Throughout the overnight relays, there are special events to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have died.

“The Relay for Life is like a giant camp-out that generates a special feeling of community among participants,” said Jennifer Rice, marketing outreach coordinator. “It is an emotional and uplifting experience for everyone.”
