When the Office of Research moves Nov. 16 to the Crystal Terrace Building at 3319 West End Ave., the offices of Grants Management (Tom Barnes, director) and Clinical Trials (Connie Chevalier, director) will merge into a single office for Grants Management and Research Contracts. The move will assemble all the key staff who deal with federal and non-federal grant applications, all clinical trial agreements, and certain other research contracts and affiliate agreements, into one location.
Sandra Goldstein has been hired as Executive Director for Grants and Research Contracts to help facilitate the changes in the office. Goldstein provided comprehensive oversight for sponsored research activities at the University of Florida. In addition to her experiences as an administrative leader, she has implemented many training programs to enhance faculty and support staff’s working knowledge of sponsored research, been both an invited speaker and an active participant in the Society of Research Administrators, and served as a representative at the Federal Demonstration Partnership on behalf of the University of Florida.
