Shuttle lots to be closed for game on Thursday

Parking in shuttle lots will be restricted next Thursday, Sept. 4, when the Vanderbilt University football team plays the University of South Carolina in a rescheduled game. To accommodate incoming fans, shuttle parking lots will be closed to Medical Center staff from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Those who normally park in shuttle lots before 3:30 p.m. can park at LP Field. Shuttles will run from LP Field to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Medical Center North. Travel time is estimated at 20 minutes.

Those who normally park in shuttle lots after 3:30 p.m. can park in South Garage.

To compensate for the inconvenience, the shuttles will have refreshments and commuters can enter to win prizes, including TVs, I-pod Shuffles, DVD players, portable DVD players and Mapco gas cards.

For more information, contact Gary Streaty, director of Medical Center Parking and Transportation Services, at 326-0686 or Rodney Williamson, director of Media Relations for the Athletic Department, at 322-4121.
