A fourth-year Harvard medical student working with two Vanderbilt University Medical Center physicians was recently honored for her work by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

Harvard's Debbie Lee, thesis researcher with Andrej Lyshchik, M.D., Ph.D., a resident in Radiology and Radiological Sciences, and Arthur Fleischer, M.D., professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, was awarded the New Investigator Award at the annual convention of the AIUM recently held in San Diego, Calif. She will be serving her internship at Vanderbilt beginning in July.

Vanderbilt students and faculty were also featured prominently at the meeting. Mary Loveless, a graduate student in the Institute of Imaging Science, presented her research on contrasted development of techniques for 3D contrasted sonography, for which she was awarded a grant from the AIUM.
