VUSM recycling initiative grows

In just nine months, the RecyClinic program has recycled more than 9,000 pounds of aluminum cans and mixed paper through the bins placed in Light Hall, far surpassing the original goal to recycle 2,000 pounds a year.

Organized and led by rising third-year Vanderbilt University School of Medicine students Peter Brokish and Raimy Amasha, the RecyClinic effort was launched last fall with the help of an AOA service grant. Now, the group has a new goal of recycling 1,000 pounds per month and to continue to grow the program.

Recycling bins are located at: the Northwest corners of Light Hall on floors three through eight; lecture halls 202, 208, 214; both lobbies on the second floor, the snack room in the Southeast corner and medical student lounge on the third floor (aluminum only).
