Graduate students from various disciplines across campus joined efforts this week to raise funds and generate awareness for tsunami victims. Along with selling ribbons, the students collected funds at various events and organized a lecture Thursday with guest speakers Carol Etherington, M.S.N., R.N., assistant professor of Nursing and former president of the USA Board of Doctors Without Borders, and VUSM student Himali Wijesooriya, who was in Sri Lanka when the earthquake hit. Proceeds from the ribbon sale and other events being held across campus will be donated to the American Red Cross.
