We Care for Kids on tap in October

The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is gearing up for its seventh annual celebration of children, We Care for Kids Day.

The free, family-fun event will be from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 2, and will be held at the Sports Club Field on the corner of Children’s Way and 25th Avenue South.

Patients and families who have received treatment at Children's Hospital are encouraged to attend. There will be a reunion area for past patients to meet with their caregivers.

In addition to live entertainment, Children's Hospital departments and community organizations provide interactive, educational activities for children at the event. Booths will provide fun activities for children of all ages, focusing on education, nutrition, safe and healthy children and exercise as well as face painting, inflatables, mascots, Star Wars and super heroes.
