The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt commemorated its 10th anniversary with an employee celebration Wednesday. Faculty and staff enjoyed cake, perused scrapbooks from the past decade and had photos taken with the official hospital mascot, Champ. Children’s Hospital, named after Monroe Carell Jr., former CEO of Central Parking, opened its doors on Feb. 8, 2004. In the photo above, helping cut a 10th anniversary cake during the celebration are, from left, Susan Hernandez, BSN, MBA, chief nursing officer, Steven Webber, MBChB, MRCP, pediatrician-in-chief, and Meg Rush, M.D., chief of staff. In the photo below, Joan Humphrey, ET, gets a hug from Champ.
