Tennessee Hospital Association honors three

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Vanderbilt faculty and staff members as well as a volunteer at the group’s annual meeting in Nashville recently.

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Vanderbilt faculty and staff members as well as a volunteer at the group’s annual meeting in Nashville recently.

April Kapu, DNP, APRN

• April Kapu, DNP, APRN, Associate Nursing Officer and VUMC advanced practice director in the Office of Advanced Practice, received a clinical nurse of distinction award “for her contributions and positive impact on nursing, care delivery and outcomes at the hospital.”

• Jenny Slayton, MSN, R.N., executive director of Quality Improvement, received a patient safety leadership award “for taking extraordinary and innovative steps to make patient safety and quality a top priority at the medical center.”

• Kara Adams, a volunteer at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, received a volunteer award “for her passion, enthusiasm and her perspective of a parent caring for a special needs child as a volunteer at the hospital.”
