A new awards program will recognize quality and safety improvement excellence across Vanderbilt Health.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center will celebrate National Patient Safety Awareness Week March 13-19 with a series of events designed to spread awareness for patient safety throughout the Medical Center campus and its regional hospitals.

Vanderbilt University Hospital has been named a Top Teaching Hospital by the Leapfrog Group, a large coalition of public and private purchasers of employee health coverage that works to encourage health care safety, quality and affordability.

Vanderbilt University Hospital has again been recognized among the safest hospitals in the nation after receiving a fall 2021 safety grade of “A” from the Leapfrog group.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is the only health system in the Southeast and one of only 20 hospitals nationwide to land a spot on the U.S. News & World Report's 2021-2022 Honor Roll of America's Best Hospitals.

Jenny Slayton, MSN, RN, who has served as Vice President of Quality, Safety and Risk Prevention since 2016, is being promoted to Senior Vice President for Quality, Safety and Risk Prevention.

The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) honored Vanderbilt faculty and staff members as well as a volunteer at the group’s annual meeting in Nashville recently.
