New My Health at Vanderbilt feature allows users to join waitlist for earlier appointments

My Health at Vanderbilt (MHAV), the online portal that allows Vanderbilt Health patients to message their providers, check lab results and pay bills, among other functions, has debuted a feature, called Fast Pass, that allows users who have an appointment with a VUMC provider to join a waitlist for an earlier appointment if one becomes available.

A MHAV user scheduling an appointment may ask to join a waitlist. Users can also place themselves on a waitlist for some clinics using the MHAV account under “Appointments.”

Not all clinics currently offer Fast Pass.

If an earlier appointment becomes available, My Health at Vanderbilt will send

an email or, for users of the mobile phone app, a notification. The user will then have 30 minutes to accept the new appointment time by signing into MHAV to claim the earlier appointment.  Offers are sent to multiple patients and the offer is first come first serve.

If a user doesn’t claim the new appointment time within 30 minutes, the previously scheduled appointment remains.

To receive immediate updates on your phone when openings become available, download the My Health at Vanderbilt mobile app and activate the “Push Notifications” feature.
