Center for Advanced Mobile Health Care Learning sponsors monthly clinics; next is Sept. 15

The Center for Advanced Mobile Health Care Learning (CAMHL) sponsors monthly hour-long “clinics” targeting clinicians and educators who are interested in using technology-enhanced micro-learning approaches to address knowledge and performance gaps in the workplace.  CAMHL Clinics will be held virtually on the third Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m., with the next being Sept. 15.

September’s CAMHL Clinic will feature a presentation entitled VUMC Clinician Well-Being, A QuizTime Project by Dr. Beth Ann Yakes. Educators are invited to hear the presentation and give feedback and participate in a lively discussion. Goal: The CAMHL Clinic’s overarching goal is to support participants as they design and implement projects that will have measurable outcomes and will be suitable for scholarly publication and presentation.   

 Course Objectives:

  1. Discuss the characteristics of health professions education activities that have been shown to be most effective in bringing about intended practices changes that will in turn lead to improved quality of care and patient outcomes.
  2. Explain the learning theories that support the use of workplace microlearning approaches.
  3. Design microlearning/workplace learning activities that aim to address an identified practice gap and take into consideration the practice setting, target learner groups, and systems level factors that might facilitate or impede change.
  4. Employ electronic learning technologies in delivering microlearning/workplace learning activities.
  5. Develop evaluation and assessment strategies that demonstrate the impact of learning interventions on individual learner competencies (knowledge, skills, attitudes), team competencies, practice behaviors, and/or clinical outcomes.

CAMHL Clinics is eligible for CME Credit

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Vanderbilt University Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
