This year, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital’s (VWCH) annual Socktober event benefits Compassionate Hands, a Wilson County-based non-profit that provides food, shelter, clothing and cleaning services to those experiencing homelessness.

Many adorable Sock Monsters like these pictured above — created by Hannah Harts, ICU clinical coordinator, and Nikki Stauffer, Women’s Services clinical coordinator — haunt corners of the hospital waiting to be fed by their team. Public donations of new socks are welcome at the drop-off location inside the Cedars Café on the VWCH campus.
