Health Professional Solutions is joining the Digital Consortium, an alliance of leading health systems brought together by Aegis Ventures focused on collaborating to advance innovation. Vanderbilt Health along with UPMC Enterprises bring the consortium to a group of 11 prominent health systems committed to developing and advising on cutting-edge health care solutions.
As one of the Southeast’s largest academic medical centers, Vanderbilt Health has established a strong track record of accelerating health care innovations through collaborations such as the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network and most recently the Alliance for Genomic Discovery.
Through this new membership, the organization gains an additional channel to engage in and support health system-led companies, while working within a collaborative environment focused on patient care quality and effective delivery, said Olivia Bryant, senior vice president at Health Professional Solutions (HPS).
“The Digital Consortium is a vital opportunity for health systems to collaborate with peers across regions to drive meaningful improvements in care delivery. The rapid advancements in technology coupled with evolving care needs means that leading health systems can co-create a tech ecosystem that better serves our needs as hospitals and especially our patients,” said Bryant. “Vanderbilt University Medical Center brings expertise from our legacy of providing leading-edge care as well as from HPS’ work with health care partners across all 50 states. This is the moment to link up with top-tier health systems that share our vision for improving care, and we’re excited to both learn from and contribute to the consortium.”
HPS is a for-profit holding company with a portfolio of subsidiaries, including Vanderbilt Health Rx Solutions and the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy, that works to incubate, develop and launch new commercial products.
HPS and Bryant will work alongside other consortium members to identify key health care challenges and codevelop targeted solutions that improve patient outcomes and health care efficiency.
“I’m thrilled to welcome UPMC Enterprises and Vanderbilt Health to the Digital Consortium,” said John Beadle, co-founder and managing partner of New York-based Aegis Ventures. “These new partners are already putting innovation at the center of what they do. By combining their knowledge with that of our existing health system partners, we have the ability to make a real difference in the solutions that are being created across both health care and technology.”
Consortium members are Endeavor Health, Indiana University Health, Memorial Hermann Health System, Northwell Health, Novant Health, Ochsner Health, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Sharp HealthCare, and Stanford Health Care.
