Courtney Schadt, MD

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine graduate (2007) and former dermatology resident Courtney Schadt, MD, has returned to Vanderbilt Health as Associate Professor of Dermatology and Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Dermatology.

Schadt served on the faculty of the University of Louisville School of Medicine from 2011-26, eventually serving as the Division of Dermatology Residency Program Director and Clerkship Director. She returned to VH in June.

At the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, among her other current activities with the council, Schadt is chair of the Dermatology Review Committee and leads a group charged with the once-a-decade updating of dermatology program requirements.

Schadt practices general dermatology with particular interest in autoimmune connective tissue disease, autoimmune blistering disorders, other inflammatory disorders of the skin, and nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Before entering medical school, Schadt earned a B.S. at the University of Kentucky, where she studied history and biology.
