Jasmiry (Jas) Bennett, DNP, MBA, APRN, ACNP-BC, has been named the inaugural Vice President and Chief Advanced Practice Officer for Vanderbilt Health, according to an announcement Aug. 12 from System Chief Nursing Officer Karen Keady, PhD, RN, NEA-BC.
Bennett, currently Advanced Practice Director at Yale New Haven Hospital, will begin her new role in November.
“Dr. Bennett is a highly respected health care leader with more than 20 years of progressive experience in clinical practice, operations and executive leadership,” Keady said.
“Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the role of Advanced Practice Providers, building high-performing teams, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and creating opportunities for APPs to practice at the top of their licensure.”
In her current role at Yale New Haven Hospital, Bennett provides strategic leadership across multiple clinical service lines and leads initiatives focused on quality, patient access, workforce development, operational excellence, and care delivery.
She previously held leadership roles at Baylor Scott & White Health and Hackensack University Medical Center, where she helped establish and expand APP programs, strengthen governance structures, and drive innovative approaches to patient care and provider engagement.
As Vanderbilt Health’s first Vice President and Chief Advanced Practice Officer, Bennett will provide strategic leadership for the APP community across the enterprise and help shape the future of advanced practice.
“Her ability to build strong relationships, lead transformational change, and align clinical and operational priorities will be invaluable as Vanderbilt Health continues to advance its mission of personalizing the patient experience through quality, innovation and discovery,” Keady said.
In the new role, Bennett will report directly to Keady, with a matrixed reporting relationship to Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Clinical Affairs Rick Wright, MD, and Chief of Staff for Corporate Clinical Affairs Cecelia Theobald, MD, MPH.
“Dr. Bennett brings to Vanderbilt a wealth of experience leading advanced practice teams across multiple academic medical centers,” Theobald said. “We are looking forward to how she will further enhance our already strong Vanderbilt Health culture and encourage us to continue to further develop these professions.”
