Keeping the beat has new meaning for Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute colleagues who have produced a music video to promote the American Heart Association’s Nashville Heart Walk, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6.
The video was filmed at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Fool on the Hill Recording Studio in Nashville. It was directed and produced by Casey Culver.
It features an original composition titled “Walk the Walk,” written by Cardiac Surgery administrative assistant Kurt Eger and cardiologist Mark Glazer, M.D.
“Normally, we borrow the tune from an existing song, but this year we have written an original song,” Glazer said. “This is our way of reminding folks the Heart Walk is an extremely important to our research efforts as we continue to study ways to improve the heart health of Tennesseans, who have one of the highest rates of heart disease in the country.”
The Heart Walk festivities begin at 8 a.m., on the Sports Club Field at the corner of 25th Avenue and Children’s Way on the Vanderbilt campus, and the walk, which offers both a 5K and a one-mile route, begins at 10 a.m.
