The Music City Tennis Invitational celebrated its 40th anniversary recently with another banner year, raising $73,000 for the Center for Child Development at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
The event, held at the Brownlee O. Currey Tennis Center at Vanderbilt University, is the longest running music-related tennis tournament in the country. More than 150 players participated.
This year’s co-chairs were Patsy Bradley, Bill Riddle and Patsy Wells. Kelli Corbin and Whitney Conyers served as the Friends of Children’s Hospital volunteer co-chairs.
BMI sponsored the kick-off reception complete with music, fun and friends. Jake Owen was the celebrity spokesperson, and Fox 17 WZTV Tennessee Mornings co-host Kelly Sutton was the event’s celebrity host.
Over the course of 40 years the Music City Tennis Invitational has raised more than $1.5 million.
