More than 5,000 people gathered for the Arrington Vineyards Harvest Party on Saturday, Aug. 11, to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The daylong event, now in its seventh year, featured wine tastings, food trucks and a concert by country music star Kix Brooks.

In addition to serving on the Children’s Hospital Advisory Board and co-chairing the recent Growing to New Heights Campaign to add four new floors to the hospital, Brooks also serves as co-owner of Arrington Vineyards with winemaker Kip Summers and entrepreneur John Russell.

Brooks and his wife, Barbara, have been supporters of Children’s Hospital for over a decade.

“Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a relationship that is the most important and gratifying one I have outside of my family,” said Brooks.

“The fact that I can be a part of something so important to the youth and families of our community gives me a great deal of pride and the ambition to do everything I can to help the talented and dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff that make it their mission to do this amazing work every day.”

For the last seven years, proceeds from the Harvest Party have supported the children and families at Children’s Hospital. This year’s sponsors included Delta Dental of Tennessee, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Triumph Bank, Foxhedge Music and Masterbuilt.

“We are very grateful to Kix and Barbara Brooks, the rest of the great folks with Arrington Vineyards, and our other generous sponsors for hosting this event each year. We are especially thankful for the unwavering support from Kix and his steadfast commitment to the children we serve,” said Jeff Balser, MD, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
