Vanderbilt Health is offering a new way to get an earlier, more convenient time for your next appointment if one becomes available. It’s called Wait List.
Wait List is one of many new features in the latest version of My Health at Vanderbilt, the secure patient website and mobile phone application that allows you to access your health records and appointments, securely message your Vanderbilt providers, renew your prescriptions — and more.
If you’re not already a member, you can sign up for free at www.myhealthatvanderbilt.com. You can also download the My Health at Vanderbilt mobile phone app from the Apple Store or Google Play. If you have questions or need help signing up, call 615-343-HELP.
Wait List allows you to get on a waiting list for nearly any upcoming appointment. If an earlier appointment becomes available, you’ll receive an offer through your My Health at Vanderbilt account to accept or just keep your existing appointment.
Just locate your scheduled visit under “My Appointments” (in the website) or “Appointments” (in the mobile app) and select “Add to Wait List,” if it’s available.
In addition, when you make an appointment in person or by phone, and they are unable to schedule you at your preferred date, you will be invited to be placed on the waitlist, and you will be notified about earlier appointments via Wait List when they become available.
You can receive a text notification on your phone if you activate the “Notifications” feature on the “Account Settings” page of the mobile app. Otherwise, you’ll just receive an email.
Sign in to My Health at Vanderbilt to claim the new appointment time or keep your existing appointment. You’ll have two hours to accept. New openings are first come, first served, so it helps to respond quickly.
“Patient access to our high-quality services remains an important priority for us,” said Shubhada Jagasia, MD, MMHC, professor of Medicine and chief of staff for Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics.
“This exciting new feature is one more step forward in our patient-centered mission,” she said. “I would like to encourage patients to sign up for My Health at Vanderbilt and avail themselves of these new convenient services.”
