Preds, Vanderbilt Health announce Reverse Retro helmet entitlement

The Nashville Predators announced today that the helmets worn during all six of their 2020-21 Reverse Retro games will feature the logo of the team’s official health care provider, Vanderbilt Health.

The Nashville Predators announced today that the helmets worn during all six of their 2020-21 Reverse Retro games will feature the logo of the team’s official health care provider, Vanderbilt Health. Through this helmet entitlement, which stems from the existing partnership agreement between the two organizations, the Predators will honor the tireless work being done by Vanderbilt Health to keep Middle Tennessee safe and healthy.

“Throughout the entire coronavirus pandemic, Vanderbilt Health has remained deeply committed to protecting the health and safety of our entire community,” Nashville Predators EVP & CRO Chris Junghans said. “With the 2020-21 hockey season now underway, we owe a great deal of thanks to their expertise and guidance, which have allowed us to implement the extensive protocols that will keep our players and fans safe. We hope that every time the staff of Vanderbilt Health see their logo on the ice, it provides a greatly deserved morale boost and reminds them that all of Smashville is standing with them.”

During each of the six Reverse Retro games scheduled for the 2020-21 season — the first of which will take place Monday, Feb. 8 — the Nashville Predators will not only feature the logo of Vanderbilt Health on their helmets, but also highlight a different aspect of the work being done by the team’s dedicated partner.

“The past year has been incredibly challenging for everyone. The Predators return to the ice is a welcome event for our workforce and the broader Middle Tennessee community. We are excited for the work of our physicians, nurses and staff of to be recognized as part of this special tribute and invite others from across the region who have also contributed to the fight against COVID to join us in this honor. It will take all of us to end the pandemic,” said C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health System Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The Nashville Predators worked closely with adidas and the NHL to design their version of the Reverse Retro jersey, which represents unique and historical moments in Predators history and created a new formula to showcase the passion of the fans. In featuring Vanderbilt Health’s logo on the navy helmets, the Preds will also be able to showcase the pride that they take in their long-standing partnership with their official health care provider.

Additional details related to the helmet decal partnership between Vanderbilt Health and the Nashville Predators will be announced as the season continues.
