Jeanne Wallace, DVM, Vice President of Animal Care for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been elected vice president of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) for a three-year term.
Over the next four years she will be vice president, president-elect, president and then past president. Her term commences on Oct. 19.
The ACLAM is a 64-year-old specialty board recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association with 1,138 members. These specialists work for academic, governmental and private research organizations providing specialized veterinary medical care, research support and humane care for laboratory animals.
The group works to advance the humane care and responsible use of laboratory animals through certification of veterinary specialists, professional development, education and research.
Wallace’s election is indicative of her contributions to the organization in the past and recognition by peers of her abilities for the future success of ACLAM.
