eStar update: New “Send Text Messages?” toggle switch coming

Why: The new “Send Text Messages?” toggle switch will allow staff to enroll or un-enroll a patient from all SMS text message communications from VUMC with one simple step.

 

What: A new master “Send Text Messages?” toggle switch is being added to the Communication Preferences menu within the Patient Appointment Desk.

 

When: On Friday, 1/6/23, Health IT will run an Epic utility to ensure that all existing patients have the “Send Text Messages?” Communication Preference is set to “Yes” as a default.

 

On Monday, 1/9/23, at 8:00 AM, Health IT will confirm that the Epic utility has finished running, and at 8:30 AM, they will migrate the updates into the production environment.

 

Who: When a patient provides feedback regarding whether they would like to continue receiving SMS text messages from VUMC for items like appointment reminders, staff will now have the ability to enroll or un-enroll a patient from all SMS text message communications with one simple step.
